Fancy a Masterchef challenge with an edible end result? Um, yes please. Although with my culinary skills there is rarely any edible end result…Fear not, the team at Vaughan’s Cookery School
are here to put that right (brace yourselves, you’ve got an uphill battle with me, chaps).
Here at Muddy we’ve snooped out our fave cookery schools in Wilts and, with courses already booking for autumn, this one’s a goodie. Vaughan’s run courses covering everything from Speedy Meals to Basic Bread and, with a quick venture to Thai, Lebanese and Indian Street Food in between, there is something for every palate. They also run Mini Chefs and Young Chefs on the last Saturday of the month and, unsurprisingly, these are an extremely popular way of keeping the mudlets out of your hair. You’ll need to book seriously far in advance for guest tutors, including Juanita Hennessey (finalist in MasterChef 2016) and Brittany Manning (top class pastry chef from Michelin starred Red Lion in East Chisenbury).
Vaughan’s are also an approved teaching centre for the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality and run Professional Kitchen Essentials courses – again, you’ll need to book early for these babies – which are perfect if you’re heading off to do a ski season, crew a yacht (you lucky things) or run your own food business.
