The Good Food Garage

Muddy says: With the B-word (don’t you say it!) threatening, there’s no time like now to shop and buy local

Ah, a big massive Muddy hug to The Good Food Garage, a little (sort-of) farm shop offering ethically sourced meat and local vegetables amongst other goodies.

Set up by the founder of local ethical dog treat company and Honey’s Real Dog Food (it offers dogs raw, natural diets. How cool is that for our furry friends?), The Good Food Garage are as passionate as you can get about eating and cooking naturally and supporting local businesses. Organic, locally grown veg is their nirvana but they don’t stop there…

Check them out for local British meat, free range, grass fed, organic or wild; organic fruit and veg; very little plastic packaging; avoiding palm oil; vegan food (anyone for Meat Free Mondays?); affordable prices (we’re not talking fancy pants farm shop with prices to match, here); and really, really great cake!

We love their free range ducks (who’ve grown up with their own duck pond, no less), free range pork chops, and organic bacon from Helen Browning‘s organic farm. On the dairy side, grab some tasty organic cheddar, free range eggs, duck eggs, even pickled eggs…They also do quick suppers, from gluten free pizza bases to soups, dahls and ready-prepped cous cous and risotto.

Local treats include Wiltshire honey, jams and marmalades, plus handmade toasted muesli, and for lunch it’s freshly made rolls, Cornish pasties, sausage rolls, veggie pasties and pies, all local and delivered fresh of course. And don’t forget puds and cakes…

All good stuff, really!
