Set in 84 acres of rolling countryside on the edge of The Cotswolds, Pinewood offers a seriously family-friendly education for boys and girls aged 3-13, in a day and boarding environment. Sport is tip-top here, academics are excellent and there is an all-round vibe of fun and adventure. Want to find out for yourself? Their Open Day is on Thursday 16 May, and if you bring the kids with you they can even join in some of the Thursday afternoon activities. To find out more or to register for the Open Day, get in touch with Emily Miller, Registrar on EmilyMiller@pinewoodschool.co.uk or 01793 782208. Plus, we’ve just been invited for a snoop around, so the Muddy review will be coming shortly.

Hanford School, Blandford Forum, Open Morning Sat 9 March

Hanford School, set in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside but only a 2½ hour drive from London, is a day and boarding school for girls aged 7-13 and is, in our eyes, a true gem. Read our review to the Senior School, a co-ed, all-through day and boarding school on the edge of Salisbury Plain that prides itself on nurturing happy, confident and community-spirited pupils here. The Prep, the younger sibling where bright-eyed kids and teachers exude confidence and a love of life, is no less impressive – check out our review. Open Day is on 27 April, 10am-1pm.

For Children’s Mental Health Week this month, we spoke to Mark Mortimer, Head of Warminster School, about the importance of mental wellness in the school environment. Read our feature here.
