Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa

Muddy says: Looking for a Cotswold retreat where you can leave the world behind? Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa aces every base.

Whatley Manor is a beautifully restored Cotswold country house hotel and spa.

Built in the 19th century, the manor house is Grade 2 listed and preserves its unique historical character, making guests feel as if they are spending time in a beautiful private home rather than a hotel. The 15 rooms and six suites are all entirely individual in style and design, furnished with a blend of antique and contemporary pieces with art sourced from around the world. Set in 12 acres with 26 distinctive gardens, many based on the original 1920s plans, the hotel and gardens offer breathtaking views of the open Wiltshire countryside.

Food at Whatley Manor bursts with flavour and originality with a choice of two dining experiences. Executive chef Niall Keating has launched his own modern British menu in The Dining Room, which also draws inspiration from the cuisines of Korea, Japan and France. At Grey’s Brasserie, you can have a more relaxed dining experience, choosing from a menu of comfort dishes and casual British fare, including traditional Sunday roast. Brunch is served every Sunday including the option of bottomless Prosecco. Guests are welcome to simply drop in for a quick bite to eat, a cup of tea or coffee and read of the newspaper. Although we assure you, you won’t want to rush or even to leave that quickly.

A highlight of any stay at Whatley Manor is its unforgettable Aquarias Spa. Home to an exclusive Natura Bissé Bubble Suite, you can experience treatments in a 99.995% pure environment which provides exceptional results that rejuvenate and purify. Other featured brands include ‘beyond organic’ treatments by ila-spa, Lava Shells by Shared Beauty Secrets and natural nail care by Jessica Nails. The spa facilities include a hydrotherapy pool complete with airbed, air tub, neck massage jets and air bench; a tepidarium with heated stone recliners; salt scrub and experience showers; thermal cabins including a calidarium, steam grotto, laconium and sauna; a wave dream sensory room; a VIP suite complete with its own hydrobath; and a gym with fitness classes by arrangement (personal training, tai-chi, pilates and yoga classes on specific evenings in the spa lounge).
