Rock up at the uber-gorgeous village of Hindon in the West Wiltshire Downs (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty no less and a mere stone’s throw from mighty megolith Stonehenge) and you’ll find everything you need in a country pub.
Food includes everything from fish goujon sandwiches and black pudding scotch eggs to burgers, pan seared mackerel and 28 day aged Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak. A big tick goes to their sharer’s platters – choose from Butcher’s Board with pork pie, bbq pork ribs and chicken wings, Ploughman’s Cave, which does what it says on the tin, and Seafood Board with roll mops, potted crayfish and Jack seeded sprats.
