Cotswold Farm Park
Muddy says: We just love this super farm (home of celebrity farmer Adam Henson, don’t you know) that delivers off-the-scale cute baby animals and 360-degree agricultural entertainment.
This gorgeous farm in the stunning Cotswold countryside around Guiting Power was opened in 1971 by Joe Henson, the father of Countryfile star and everybody’s favourite farmer Adam Henson, who’s opened up his home for some 100,000 visitors a year to come and enjoy a slice of agri-rural bliss.
A finalist in Muddy’s Best Family Attraction category, Cotswold Farm Park has so much going on, you could go every day for a week and still be wanting to come back for more. Cuddle chicks and rabbits, watch milking demonstrations, bottle feed lambs and goat kids, meet litters of piglets, watch a catwalk of sheep on the farm’s own pyramid stage, go on a tractor and trailer safari – and that’s just the standard offering. There’s also loads of seasonal events, including Halloween pumpkin carvings and parties, Christmas festivities with Father Christmas, elves and all the animals of the nativity, and Easter egg hunts.
And if you think, yes, I need to stay a week, you can book into the caravan and campsite, which is open from March to December, and get a great deal on the entrance pass to the Farm Park where your day pass can be used for the duration of your stay. There’s a beautiful new welcome lodge, shower block, glamping options and an on-site eatery, Adam’s Kitchen, for hungry campers that serves up homemade cakes, light lunches and snacks.
[Note the farm is closed between 23 December 2017 and 10 February 2018]
