Meet the Muddy Awards Finalists!

It has been a massive task of bean counting to work out the finalists in this year’s Muddy Stilettos Awards but we have our shortlist. Raise your glass to 120 brilliant businesses in 24 categories.

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who has taken part so far in this year’s Muddy Stiletto Awards. There are loads of brilliant businesses in Glos, and we’ve received thousands of nominations across all 24 categories – so you’re clearly in love with local too!

.

I’m always a bit conflicted at this point in the Awards.

.

It’s super-fun to discover cool indie businesses, and see which village or town is having its ‘moment’! And I love telling the Finalists they’ve made it through. But there are so many incredible businesses whose journey stops today (though get in touch if you think we should be featuring you anyway – we’re all ears!).

The Finals start and voting opens on Wednesday 15 May at 10am. They come and go in just 7 days, so if you love a local business and want to give it a pat on the back, head to the Awards site and do your bit before it slips your mind (yeah, I know what you’re like) because the Finalist with the most votes will be crowned Winner.

Right, that’s enough blather from me. Time to meet the Finalists. Who gets your vote?

Law & Co. in Stow has been my favourite boutique from the day it opened and I had my wedding list there. Not only are the assistants welcoming and relaxed, they are also extremely good at advising me on how to wear something and what suits. Nowhere else have I found such a collection of cleverly put-together pieces.

I would like to submit two votes, please! The first for Aneata Boote, jewelry designer and silversmith. Aneata has designed and made the most exquisite earings and matching ring to complement a wedding outfit, has repaired old favourites and created a beautiful pair of earings for an 18th birthday present within an hour! Nothing is too much trouble and her warm, friendly, upbeat personality is as inspiring as her work.
